The Field Guide
How to place your patches, get more from every one, and make relief part of your day.
Find your spot. Place the patch. Get on with your day.
Totono isn't a numbing patch — it's a warm, drug-free patch you wear right over the area that's bothering you. This guide shows you the best spots for the most common aches, and a few smarter ways to use it that our long-time customers swear by.
1 · Clean, dry skin
Make sure the area is clean and dry — no lotion or oil. The patch sticks best and settles in faster.
2 · Place over the ache
Center the patch on the spot that bothers you. For joints, place it with the joint relaxed in a neutral position.
3 · Feel it, then rotate
Cool peppermint hits right away; the warmth builds over 30–45 min. Next time, shift the spot slightly so your skin stays happy.
Cool right away, warm for the long haul.
Most patches numb the surface and fade. Totono works differently — a gentle, drug-free warmth you wear right over the spot, made to be part of your day rather than a quick mask. It won't cure your pain; nothing does. It's a drug-free way to take the edge off and get on with what you were doing.
No NSAIDs. No synthetic menthol.
Just far-infrared bioceramic warmth and an aromatherapist-developed blend of pure essential oils led by peppermint — natural menthol, not the synthetic kind. Nothing to swallow, nothing to time around other medications.
You feel relief, not nothing.
Numbing sits on the surface and waits to wear off. Totono works with the feeling instead of deadening it — a warm patch you keep on while you get on with your day.
Best as a habit, not a rescue.
Customers who feel the most from Totono use it consistently — a patch a day on the spots that tend to act up.
Two ways to feel it
Fast-acting cool, then long-lasting warmth — you feel Totono working in two stages.
A cool, tingly freshness.
Peppermint — the lead oil in our blend — gives an immediate cooling tingle the moment it touches your skin: fresh and awake, never a numb, deadened feeling.
Gentle, lasting warmth.
Then the far-infrared bioceramic warmth builds — gentle and low by design, so you can keep it on through the day, or overnight.
A note on the warmth: it's gentle on purpose — milder than a drugstore heat wrap, never a hot or stinging surface burn. Some people feel a clear, soft warmth; others barely notice it. Both are completely normal. The low, even warmth is what makes Totono comfortable to wear for hours — or overnight.
What's inside the patch
Four simple layers and an aromatherapist-developed oil blend — no battery, no drug, no mystery.
An aromatherapist-developed essential-oil blend — peppermint, lavender, thyme & tea tree. Drug-free and latex-free. Foil-sealed in pairs.
The basics, done right.
Clean, dry skin
Skip lotions and oils first — they keep the patch from sticking and settling in.
Neutral joint
Relax the knee, elbow, or shoulder as you apply, so the patch sits flat and stays put.
Cool now, warm soon
You'll feel the cool peppermint right away. The gentle warmth builds over 30–45 minutes — put it on, then carry on.
Rotate the spot
For an area you treat often, shift placement slightly each time to keep skin comfortable.
Thinner skin feels more
Inner wrist, neck, top of the foot — warmer there. Start there only if you like it.
Off before showering
A tip from our customers: remove before a shower, then reapply to clean, dry skin.
